WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND A HYBRID VEHICLE?

Hybrid cars are equipped with a combustion engine in addition to an electric battery. Battery electric vehicles use only an electric battery to power the motor, which means they produce zero tailpipe emissions.

HOW MUCH WILL I SAVE ON GAS?

The amount you will save on gas all depends on average gas prices in your area, the rate you pay for electricity, and how frequently you will be driving your LEAF. To get a professional opinion based on your situation, feel free to contact one of our EV Experts here!

HOW FAR DOES THE NISSAN LEAF GO ON A FULL CHARGE?

The Nissan LEAF has a new extended range of up to 363 kilometers!

WHAT IS NISSAN LEAF ECO MODE?

ECO Mode limits the motors output, so you can go further on a single charge. It also slightly increases the amount of regenerative braking, to help improve your range by up to 10%.

WHAT IS REGENERATIVE BRAKING?

Regenerative braking is when the kinetic energy that comes from braking is converted back to electricity. Which in result improves the range of your battery.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT CHARGING LEVELS?

There are three levels of charging offering different amounts of power/charging time:
  1. Level 1 (120volt): Slowest charge using a regular outlet, also known as "trickle charge", best used when parked overnight. You can use a portable charger to plug in to the same outlet as a clothes dryer, so it's easy to charge anywhere, anytime.
  2. Level 2 (240volt): Typical for at home, at work, or short- to medium-term parking. The majority of Level 2 public charging stations are free to use.
  3. DC Fast Charging: This is the fastest method available. Reach up to 80% power in 40 minutes.

DOES USING THE HEATING SYSTEM OR AIR CONDITIONING REDUCE THE RANGE OF THE VEHICLE?

You can pre-heat or cool your vehicle whilst plugged in and this will not affect the charge of the battery. However, using these functions on the go when your LEAF is not plugged in will reduce the battery range.

HOW DO I SHIFT TO R, N, D AND B?

First, start your LEAF by depressing the brake pedal and pressing the start button.
With the brake pedal fully depressed, slide the shift lever forward and release to reverse. To drive, pull the shift lever back and release.
To go into B Mode slide the shift lever to the left and down and hold it. This delivers the most aggressive brake regeneration, which helps charge the battery.
To go into neutral, slide the shift lever to the side and hold until the LEAF goes into neutral.
To put your LEAF in park, press the park button. To apply the parking brake, pull the "P" button on the center console.
